It’s a Saturday morning, on the Southside of Fort Worth, a part of town that has seen better days, but a community that feels that it can be restored, with help. Well on this fateful Saturday, you can see the glow of royal purple, you can hear saws cutting, nails being hammered and the smell of jubilation in the air. This is all because of a joint effort between the Epsilon Alpha Chapter and Omicron Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Their goal is to positively impact a neighborhood and adversely change the lives of a family in need, by building a home with Habitat for Humanity.
“I just wanted to do my part to give back to the community and help a family be able to gain access to a safe, affordable, quality, home that will hopefully help them build a better future. Our goal as men of Omega is to leave people with positive lasting impressions and hopefully this will be one that last a lifetime” stated Bro. Tony Culton, one of the organizers of this project. One of the members from the Omicron Gamma Gamma Chapter “Our philosophy is to...take action! The impact of that action could be the positive change that people need and could potentially change the world. OGG is a chapter of service and action, and I think it is on display here again today and serving with Epsilon Alpha also allows for Fellowship for an excellent cause.” Habitat For Humanity has a vision of where everyone has a decent place to live. The men of these chapters of Omega Psi Phi put in hard work and service and were able to get a majority of the structure finished and they look forward to completing future Habitat For Humanity projects.
